Anxiety and Fear
At Hecox Dentistry we do everything in our power to make our patients as comfortable as possible. We have an excellent track record of apprehensive patients coming in and leaving wondering what they were ever worried about in the first place. The doctors and staff will do whatever we can to reduce anxiety, allay fears, and provide painless, quick treatments. Here is a list of some of the things we do at Hecox Dentistry to make our patients as comfortable as possible
Heat and Massaging Chairs with Ultra-Leather to make your visit as comfortable as possible.
Nitrous oxide gas. This does a great job of taking patients' mind off of the procedure and let them relax.
Internet radio. Music helps to block out some of the sounds that are sometimes associated with anxiety.
Cable television. Especially great for kids so they can watch their favorite cartoons while in the chair.
How can one overcome dental anxiety?
Dental anxiety and fear can become completely overwhelming. It is estimated that as many as 35 million people do not visit the dental office at all because they are too afraid. Receiving regular dental check-ups and cleanings is incredibly important. Having regular routine check-ups is the easiest way to maintain excellent oral hygiene and reduce the need for more complex treatments.
